One of the posters show Arjun Singh, Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi as Gandhiji's (the real Mahatma--no relation to the present day Gandhis) three "wise" monkeys. Manmohan with his mouth taped, as he refused to talk to agitationists, Arjun with his ears blocked and Sonia with eyes tight shut.

A Ride on the Vande Bharat and an Unreserved Express Train

  W ell, finally we had an opportunity to travel by the recently introduced Vande Bharat. This express train runs from Kasargod in the northern end of Kerala to the State Capital Thiruvananthapuram in the south. However, ours was a  a short ride from Kozhikode to Thrissur completed in about an hour and 45 minutes.  Waiting for the Train On arrival at the station, we were told that the Vande Bharat would arrive on platform number 3. With the evening Sun blazing from the west, there was hardly any cover on this platform. The number of seats was also limited. Fortunately, the electronic information display provided the coach position. Once the train arrived, people queued up before the doors. Usually, in most trains, the seat numbers are displayed outside on top of the windows to help passengers board from the door closest to the location of the seat. Delhi motorists could teach a thing or two to F 1 drivers

         Well, Saturday we witnessed Formula one driver Daniel Riccardio giving a demonstration in a Red Bull sports car going up and down the Raj Path at 270kmph. Since it was close to my office and in the afternoon around 2.30 pm, I decided to take a look. Walked down to boat club and found an enclosure with several metal detector doorways. Walked through one of them to find that there were no galleries. One could just lean against the security fence with another such fence separating the crowd from the road. Red Bull, the organisers, had set up huge boxes for the sound system and screens that gave a good view of both India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan ends. The compering was done by FM Red channel. The first item was stunt riding by the Ghost riders, a motorcycle team. They did a couple of wheelies, that is lifting the front wheel high in the air and rolling on the rear wheel and then reversing the order to almost stand still on the front wheel.
